Worn Fashion Journal has its 7th issue out !
I first came this magazine in Lustre in Montreal and picked up all 5 of its first issues because of the cute artistically fashion cover art.
It is an unconventional independent fashion magazine with lots of goodies in it.

I think most of us girls have had the thought to create our own fashion magazines but this young lady went out and did it!

I have a little interview with the creator of the mag to get her insights and to gather some inspiration for us all... ladies meet Serah-Marie Mcmahon

What inspires you?

Outfit bloggers, Harajuku Square, the Workroom, etsy, The Textile Museum, the Folk Art Museum, the Met, all public libraries, zine fairs, Anna Sui, Clayton Evans, Diane Arbus, Courtney Love, Wayne Coyne, Martha Stewart, Malcom Gladwell, Angela Chase, Joss Whedon, Paul Feig, John Waters, Spike, Mike, Slackers and Dykes by John Pierson, Thirty Watts from Nowhere by Sue Carpenter, Bitch Magazine, Gloria Steinham, Sassy magazine, Croq zine, fabric stores, The Gee's Bend Quilts, really sharp scissors.

How did you get started?

I put out a flyer at a few vintage clothing stores and around the Fibre Arts Department at Concordia. It said "For people who love fashion but are frustrated with fashion magazines" and some people showed up at my house for a meeting. I ran into a childhood friend on the metro who offered to lay it all out. And then my life changed forever.

What is your current obsession?
Tumblr. I spend waaaaay too much time on Tumblr.

What advice would give someone trying to make their own dreams a reality?

Read a lot. Do your reserch. Get an agenda and write everything down. Don't be late. Don't be afraid to ask for help, but be very very grateful and careful of other people's time. And, in the end, just jump in and do it already.
